The deal was finalized and the Philadelphia Phillies unveiled their new acquisition yesterday at a press conference with the media, that acquisition was named Roy Halladay.

Take a look at the picture below:

Doesn’t it seem somewhat odd? Even a bit eerie in some way?

Considering one of the greatest, if not the greatest moment of Blue Jays history came in the 1993 World Series when Joe Carter “touched them all” against these same Phillies I personally find it somewhat ironic that the Phillies were the team to deal for the greatest Blue Jay of all time (again my opinion).

Roy “Doc” Halladay will be missed, but if Jays fans want to take the positive with the negative at least Halladay was not dealt to a rival American League East team and general manager Alex Anthopoulos pulled off one heck of a deal in acquiring Kyle Drabek, Brett Wallace & Travis d’Arnaud.

Speaking of Anthopoulos he conducted an interview with the Blue Jays official website regarding the trade @ http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com

The interview should automatically play under the Video Corner section of the website on the right hand side.

You can also search the Video Corner for the interview as well.

Also, Anthopoulos will be fielding questions from fans this Friday December 18th 2009 via the Blue Jays web chat.

Visit the link below for details.

The web chat should be interesting as Anthopoulos will likely have to field numerous questions on why he dealt “Doc” and I’m sure there are some negative minded fans out there that were not happy with the situation that Anthopoulos will have to deal with.
